Loved it first time since spring to hot in the summer!
easy trail, good couple hours at decent piece
It was a butt kicker. Will do it again soon
Fun hike. Took the baby on our Kelty-Pak. A little strenuous on the switchbacks, but very doable. Bring water. We did 2.5 liters.
Go early enough to be on the west did for sunset. We ate supper on a rock and watched not a sound and and amazing view
The Good: Nice hike, good distance for a 1 to 1.5 hour trip depending on your speed. Gradual incline along the first half either clockwise or counterclockwise and it was well marked. Views were nice along the way, but nothing breathtaking.
There are lots of guided horseback rides on this trail and a fair bit of horse poo.
We were hiking over a holiday week but in the middle of the day on A Monday it was pretty busy.
$6 park entrance fee per car or $2/person on bike, foot or horse.
Ok trail, well marked $6 to get in, horse poo all over watch your step! Relatively busy if you're looking for a secluded trail, this isn't it. Family friendly loop with mild elevation gain.
Nice easy trail
Well laid out trail. We started counterclockwise on the trail & had a mild incline to reach the top. Views are great. A lot of sun, little shade. Went at 9:30am & saw 4 people on the trail. Very peaceful & relaxing hike.
It is a nice trail with a very gradual climb in the clockwise direction. I would have rated this an easy trail. I was unaware there is a $6/car fee/day to enter the park.
nice trail, well groomed and great northeast views
Moderate difficulty, good views, well maintained trails. Recommended.
Great Moderate trail that has amazing views of the desert and surrounding areas. Make sure you take plenty of water as there is *no* shade anywhere throughout the loop. The loop is formed by using part of the Go John Trail. Trailhead is at the visitor center.
The Overton Loop is a well groomed trail and some of the views were incredible. There was even a mineshaft on the hike which was pretty cool, even though not accessible. The hike was moderately difficult. Next time, I think I might try running it--at least most of it. :-)
NOTE that there is a charge at the park gate ($6.00 per car).
Nice views on this well-maintained trail.
We loved the trail. It gives a moderate to higher level of exercise with awesome scenery. You have the feeling that your are way out of the city yet you're just on the outskirts. If you have the opportunity you Ned's to at least try it once!
