This is a nice trail. The path is well groomed with mostly a gradual climb, plus a bit of variety with the scenery and views of the valley. We had a good hike today. Not crowded. We went clockwise around the loop, but I don't think it matters much which direction you go. Wish I knew the history of the remnants in Willow Valley. The distance i tracked was 13.9 km.
Great running trail. One of my favorites. Love the 8.5 mesquite to Ford to willow to mesquite loop for a weekday run and so many options to add on to make it longer.
One of my favorite hikes for a good workout. Food and water are a must. You should be experienced at hiking there is a decent elevation gain. 10+ miles depending if you start at picnic area 7 or the horse staging area which adds another 2 miles to your hike. Don't miss this one the blue rocks almost look like a river flowing. Very few people on the trail once you are in a ways. Worth it!
This Trail is definitely only for experienced hikers. The first initial Ascent up the mountain is definitely tough. Many people just go to the top and turn around. But if you are experienced, the rest of the trail is very beautiful. You can enjoy relative Solitude while on this Trail. The views from the top of the mountains are beautiful.
Great hike, good cardio without killing yourself!!!!
Large bee hive next to trail route- almost turned around but decided to push through. Beautiful views. Moderate intensity.
Great hike but so many people--even at 8am. Must try it earlier.
