Lynx Lake Loop Trail is a 2.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Prescott, Arizona that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from March until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
dogs on leash
More of a family trail much less wilderness and more campground feel. It had a small fee to get in but the area was nice. They had small boat rentals and the lake was pretty.
This is an easy walk around a beautiful little mountain lake. There are a couple of bald eagles who nest here. We turned a bend and found one up in a tree just off of the path. It was pretty awesome!
September 28, 2016, I did the Lynx Lake and Salidas Gulch Loop Trails in the Prescott National Forest. Both trails were enjoyable and relatively easy.
very beautiful hike
Easy hike with pretty views.
Easy but a very pretty hike around the lake.
This is a great trail for new moms it's stroller friendly and there's places to sit along the trail if ur baby gets hungry
lots of people. Memorial day weekend. hard to pass while running.
This trail is about 2.4 miles and takes about 1 hour to get around if your walking. There is a $5.00 fee for day use but if you go on Wednesdays its free! I could see this area being crowded on the weekends. I saw lots of people hiking/jogging/walking dogs/kayaking/mtn biking/fishing/playing on the beaches. One half of the trail is paved and the other half is dirt/rocky road. I would give this a difficulty rating of easy. This trail would be perfect for just about the whole family. I saw lots of families with small children enjoying themselves. It was quiet, peaceful, clean, and overall a great quick little hike.
This was a hike/walk/jog type trail. The best part of this hike for me was hiking around a lake. Doesn't happen too often in AZ. Wonderful to bring the family along. Half is paved, but rough paved. The other half is a surprisingly lovely dirt trail with a tendency toward moderate difficulty. There are a few points that the trail becomes obscure as to where did it go, but it was a fun hike. I can see doing this again especially with family.
Loved this hike...one half of the lake, the trail is paved and easy going. the other half is a dirt trail and moderate difficulty. Did this one with the whole family, even my youngest (5 years old) finished it! Perfect trail for the whole family.
Started at the south parking lot and followed the trail that went up the east side of the lake. The trail isn't marked well in some areas but we did fine!
Parking is free on Wednesdays for those who want to save money as this is a shorter hike.
This trail is pretty close to my home so I do it a lot...especially after a hard day of work. Nice, easy asphalt trail for the first half. If you follow the trail all the way around, you have a more moderate dirt / rock / stream trail on the second half. The asphalt portion is heavily used, with people fishing along the way. The dirt / rock portion is less used but more fun in my opinion.
