Mormon Trail to Hidden Valley is about 4.2 miles long and located near Citrus Hills, Arizona. The trail is great for hiking and normally takes 2-4 hours. There are many trails in this area, worthy of more hiking. The Hidden Valley loop offers interesting tunnels, dry waterfalls, and a cool squeeze through Fat Man's pass. While it might be tempting, it is not recommended to hike off trail in this area is it is very difficult to make any progress and easy to lose sight of the trail. Given the close proximity with Phoenix, you should be ready to share this trail with many others, especially on nice winter weekends. Bring your camera as there are many opportunities for great photos. Enjoy your hike!
Pretty easy hike, only took one Nalgene and was just fine. Was on the lookout for critters, didn't spot any, saw a coyote though!
Loved this trail :)
Moderate trail with beautiful views!
Beautiful and so much fun. Great rocks to climb on all over the place, tunnels, amazing views. I loved it.
Nice, season depending, easy, also busy season depending
Loved this trail. Centipedes, chipmunks, rabbits, lizards, yellow birds, orange dragon flies & not to mention the beautiful AZ Desert landscape. Fat man's pass was an interesting experience. In addition, the sights in Hidden Valley are breath taking. Completed these trails in about 2 hrs.
Pretty good workout in the beginning, especially with the temp at 110 degrees but the back half was easy - after about a mile & a half in. Not a lot of people out in a late July evening; made it a pleasant, quiet hike. Spectacularly colourful sunset! Which gave that push from 4 to 5 stars.
Dog poo all over the trail though. Pick up after your pooches folks!!
It's serene and wonderful trail and hidden Valley is worth spending 20 minutes sitting peacefully to imbibe nature
Amazing. It was a great trail.
Fun hike. Moderate difficulty in the beginning (Mormon trail) but relatively easy once you reach the Hidden Valley loop where there are a lot of nice rock formations, which were really fun to climb. Great for kids!
Perfect level of difficulty. Lots of lizards and chipmunks. Not overly populated. Lots of rocks to climb!
Fairly easy hike, but it has great views of the valley!
Easy hike, some bugs and dog poop along the way
Super fun trail!!
Beautiful rock formations. Very scenic. Recommended.
