Herkenham Trail is a 2.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Sedona, Arizona that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Directions from Junction of Routes 89A and 179: Take 89A west 4.2 miles to Upper Red Rock Loop Road on the left. Go .25 miles south and turn into the third high school driveway on the right, just past the school buildings, to designated trailhead parking. This trail was alright, there were some flowers to enjoy in March when I went. But, I actually went off trail into the riverbed that was nearby and explored. If you have someone who loves geology, take them along because it was fascinating! You can see some geodes embedded in the rocks, and it was nice and cool in the afternoon. I might not go again, but it was fun to explore.
