An easy stroll thru a Petrified Forest!
Definitely better trees to see in the park, but the info from the walking guide is a solid introduction to petrifaction and the history of the park.
Very simple and short trail to see lots of petrified logs.
We picked the perfect day to hike these trails. Weather was great. It was a nice paved trail through the park.
Compared to the other trails in the area this one isn't that great. It's a pretty short walk and has some cool petrified trees but there are better so if you're squeezed for time move on.
Simple walk on pave trail behind the Rainbow Forest Museum. Good for those rushing through the area. The park has so much to offer besides. Spend more than a couple hours, a day is to short, especially if you want to experience the real park. Do the off the beaten path hike(s) for a real taste away from the tourists.
This trail is behind the Rainbow Forest Museum. A trail guide is available in the museum. Some of the most colorful logs in the park are on this paved trail.
