A steep and difficult short trail using many switchbacks to get to the summit. You will be rewarded with spectacular views of the surrounding area.
Great trail! Not very difficult, will definitely be back!
Good summit with good views of Phoenix, Cave Creek, and Anthem. This hike is not hard, but maybe easy/moderate. All in all, not a bad trail though.
Hiked this morning. I would say it's more medium range, not that difficult. The steepest portion is the last quarter mile, even if you're in good shape it'll cause heavier breathing there, but it's only a short stretch of tiny switchbacks. It makes a great morning hike, with a good view on top giving you 40-50 mile radius scenery. The trail can fit two people wide most of the time, but in the last half mile you'll be single file. Hiking to summit and back at a steady, slightly-quicker-than-average pace took us about 1.5 hours plus the time we spent at the summit. I hiked just fine in my Nike Frees.
very easy i dont know why it is rated as difficult.... the dixie loop trail is long with very little incline. the dixie summit does have good incline but is very short
Nice little spur that goes straight up. Good views. Can stay on Dixie loop to Dixie loop summit. Good workout and parking facilities just finished.
Streneous and steep with lots of switchbacks - great views of the surrounding preserve from the summit. You will need proper hiking footware for this trail as is it very rocky.
Accessible only from the Dixie Mountain Loop Trail, head east on the loop to reach this summit trailhead quickly.
