I would rate it very easy for the first 1.2 miles, then it becomes moderate.

Easy path with slight grade uphill the entire way. Last third to half mile is more steep of a grade. 3 mile round trip according to my Fit Bit tracker.

Small children are certainly capable of this hike with a nice view into a valley at the end. Great wildflowers and plenty of cactus varieties throughout the trail.
