We had a great time on the hike. Awesome sunrises and sunsets.
Absolutely one of my favorite trails! This is not for the hiker looking for an easy day of hiking, nor is it for the tourist in flip flops. The rocks are SHARP, the trail is narrow, and at times, hard to follow. It is a steep, albeit, short hike. The views are beautiful at the top!!
Lots of scree and is a moderate hike..... enjoyed it on a cool December afternoon.... hiking poles added to my enjoyment
Awesome view. Fairly demanding
great cardio workout
This is a climb not a hike and should be labeled as difficult. Wear hiking shoes. I hike this 3-4 times a week with my dog and can get to the top from the trail head in 20 minutes. It actually takes me longer to go back down as it is steep with lose rocks. Many people feel more comfortable using hiking poles. As you climb the road from the parking area you will come to a sign that announces the hike-follow that path to the left for a more authentic hike than taking the winding road. The views at the top are amazing- if you time it right you can see a sunset or sunrise-this hike is very similar in length and elevation to camelback without the throngs of people.
First time on this trail. Recommend 2 water bottles plus water for the dog, gloves for the climbing parts, and better shoes than the tennis shoes I wore. A bit tricky having to hold the Doberman on leash and stay balanced on rocky sections. Luckily I have a dog who will halt instantly when asked so we were ok and he acted as a block for me more than once on the way down. Views are incredible if you go up on the right side. Definitely will do this one again.
Had a lot of fun on this trail, sometimes a bit tough to follow the path. Gorgeous views! More of a climb than a hike.
A fun, short, steep hike. Should probably be rated difficult.
