Penguin Peak Trail is a 5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Girdwood, AK that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible from June until August.
The view from the top is pretty epic like just about any other hike in alaska. I would rate this hike as difficult, it is uphill the while time and about 1000 ft elevation gain for every mile. Also it not a crowded trail so I would be sure to be super bear aware.
