Awesome walk. Beautiful! Took us 2 hours to get to the top. Walking sticks helped us alot! Amazing views! Breathtaking!
This is probably one of my favorite hikes in the Eagle River area! Pretty strenuous, especially if it's hot out, but just keep at it and the top is in sight.
Once you get to the top of the first peak, you have the opportunity to continue hiking out to other peaks and possibly even connect up to the Mt. Baldy trail.
One of the more difficult hikes I have done. Steep and strenuous. Be sure to pack water and snacks! Great view and there is an Alaska flag posted at the end!
Spent a few weeks our at Elmendorf Air Base for training and a group of us got away a few days to explore some trails. This trail, in particular, stood out by far of my favorite trail. I really enjoyed the early switchback type of terrain in the thick timber followed by the plateau of grass area and wild flowers. Furthermore, the highlight had to of been climbing out of the saddle and eating blueberries all the way up the face. Once that false summit had been reached, we continued along the ridge. Excellent trail with spectacular views and various terrain types.
Nice hike with excellent views, practically right in our backyard. Definitely will be going back
It was good but the entrance to get there is off mile high do it took alittle bit to find the trail a lot steeper then I thought it would be but amazing view.
Trail was pretty cleared of snow until we got to the top between the two "false summits"? Then there was snow, it is melting but a bit slippery without ice cleats. Also getting there the directions are slightly wrong you need to park on Brownie and Lynn and there is a trailer right there at the beginning. Great views.
Was a nice Hike. nothing technical and if you dont want to go all the way to mag or sig then there are two false summits along the way to offer great views of the anchorage valley.
