If you are not afraid to step out of your comfort zone, this is AMAZING! I did a 6 day float in 1998 from the head waters to the first road that crosses the river where we had left our car. After unloading our gear at the lake (head waters of the Gulkana) and hitch-hiking back to it after leaving the car at the bridge, we set off with no guide. AMAZING fishing and class IV white water. BE CAREFUL. Saw wolves, bears, many moose, eagles, and a lifetime of rainbow trout and grayling. Sockeye were in in the lower river. This was a trip of a lifetime.
