Dalton Highway is a 414 mile trail located near Coldfoot, Alaska. The trail is primarily used for scenic driving and is accessible from May until November.
The haul road has scenery, wildlife, and the challenge/excitement of sharing the road with the haul road truckers - VERY interesting when on one of the long, straight, downhill "beaver tails". I only wish we had the time to continue past Coldfoot. There, the Visitor Center is worthwhile, and it is interesting to rest at the "Farthest North Truck Stop" in the world.
