Campbell Tract Loop National Recreation Trail is a 4.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Anchorage, AK that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Great creek. Watch the salmon as they move upstream to spawn. Over 730 acres of land in Alaska's largest city awaits the day hiker. This area is one of the most popular areas used by locals. Over 12 miles of trails are here for you to explore. The area is home to moose, bears, wolves and salmon as they move upstream during the summer. Dogs and horses are allowed as well as bicycles. Maps of the trails can be found in the Google search below. Be sure and stop by the Campbell Creek Science Center during your stay. View Point Trail is also known as the Tour of Anchorage Trail. This is a nice trail that gives a leisurely hike through gentle terrain. Wildlife viewing is good in this area year round. Salmon can be seen spawning at the trailhead during the summer months.
So many trails to explore
Took my dog. It was a nice trail and even saw people on horses. Great creeks for the dog to drink from and play in.
This is an easy walk, mostly flat, not much elevation change. Pleasant short hike for a couple of hours. A variety of trails to choose from. Be ready to share the trail with other walkers, runners, bicyclists, and dogs. This is a very popular recreational area. There are designated trails for dog sleds, too.
Took the family out today for a walk. Beautiful day to get out. 5 mile easy loop. Lots of runners and bikers out.
great easy trails if you're looking to do an easy pace and just relax. Beautiful year round picture opportunities of the main bridge.
We parked near the science center and followed the creek. Beautiful water and very relaxing.
Nice system of trails. Great for running, biking, hiking and dog friendly.
It was really pretty! Good for jogging and very pretty
Beautiful area to hike and enjoy. Very easy for the young kids to hike ad play.
Really nice trails and some great views of some local creeks. During salmon season it is a high bear trafficked area, so be prepared if you head here during peak salmon season.
Easy hike and it was fun
Our favorite place to hike. :)
Some bears in the area.... Few people got mauled by bears in th past, but its a nice place ....just be prepare
Amazing hiking, stay very aware of your surroundings as there quite a few bear, moose, etc in the vicinity. It's nothing to see about 15 piles of moose scat and a few bear signs while hiking. Beautiful scenery and pieces of historical significance. My favorite quick hiking trailer in Anchorage.
