Byron Glacier View is a 1.6 mile out and back trail located near Girdwood, Alaska and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from June until October.
Byron glacier is a wonderful open to the public glacier. You are welcomed to get up close and personal with the glacier without fences.
Beautiful trail and surround views. Seasoned toddlers can easily accomplish this, also accessible with a double stroller (side by side). I have done this trail multiple times and it never disappoints.
walked on trail beside Creek ending at a glacier lots of salmon berries on the trail. busy trail
Loved this! Easy walk with a spectacular view at the end!! Would definitely do it again.
Very easy and nice hike to warm up for the day. The rushing river is a nice touch and it was fun crawling over all the rocks near the glacier. This would be a great for those who are not avid hikers but want a taste of the Alaskan heaven or for anyone looking for a no stress, short and to the point day hike.
Very beautiful. Extremely easy. Clean and well maintained. There are some rocks and such if you decide to venture past the end of the official trail. This is a nice trail for bringing small children to. They can splash around in the water and the trail is stroller friendly
Amazing view. There was an avalanche at the end of the trail just before we got there, just be aware of your surroundings.
My fiancé and I hiked this trial winter and summer! And we love it! Winter time is the best because we can hike the glacier.. But of course summer too!
Quick, easy, Majestic, Amazing. If you're in the area take an hour and enjoy.
Short and sweet. Bring a poncho!!!
Short easy trail! Absolutely beautiful in the summer. I suggest bringing a good pair of waterproof boots to cross the glacier fed streams if you want to get up close and personal with the glacier. But if you just want to admire from a far the trail is well maintained and is easy for children and the elderly.
