Arthur's Seat is a 2.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Edinburgh, SCT that offers scenic views. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking and fly fishing. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Experience a proper hill walk in the heart of the city. Arthur's Seat's rocky summit towers over Edinburgh, with fabulous views in all directions, and the extensive parkland surrounding it is an oasis of calm as a retreat from the busy city. Arthur's Seat is the highest of a group of hills, formed from the remains of a volcano, that make up Holyrood Park. The summit is 251 metres high and surprisingly rocky and wild for a hill in the centre of a major city. Although it is popular, it still feels like a real get away from it all place.
Was windy but very worth the view.
It was tough for beginners but absolutely worth it. So much fun with the varying terrain and altitudes but still very doable with its well marked paths. Absolutely gorgeous views!
Great trail. Rugged in places, but mostly easy. An excellent way to see Edinburgh.
This was my second time hiking in the UK, and this park / trail system offers two grand views high above Edinburgh, Scotland. The first is the top of Arthurs Seat, a dormant volcano right in the middle of Edinburgh. The second is along the ridge / crags that truly overlook the city. Would recommend, if you travel to Edinburgh, this is required hiking.
A nice wee walk and a fantastic way to see all of Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
A great way to take a break from the city without leaving the city! The summit gives you a lot of nice views of both nature and the city. Highly recommend if you're in the city for any period of time!
