Inwangsan Mountain is a 1.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Muak-tong, Seoul, South Korea that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round.
Located in the downtown area, just North of Gwanghwamun, Inwangsan is a beautiful rock face rising high above the palace of Gyeongbokgung below. It is easily hikeable from downtown Seoul and is sufficiently challenging and high to provide a sense of achievement when completing it. Inwangsan overlooks central Seoul, just to the west of the Gyeongbok Palace. It's not a tall mountain, standing at just 338m, but it does offer exciting and exhilarating hiking right in the centre of Seoul.Once you have got to the road that passes round the foot of the mountain, it is basically a long series of challenging steps to get up to the peak. The rewards, however, are the splendid vistas you get looking down over the city. You can spot so many iconic Seoul landmarks from here; the Namsan Tower, Gyeongbok Palace, the President's Blue House, The Samsung Tower, the 63 Building, etc. An essential mountain to climb if you're visiting Seoul.
