Sentosa Family Friendly Walking Tour is a 5.7 mile point-to-point trail located near the city of Bukit Merah that offers scenic views. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking and walking.
Sentosa Island is in many ways Singapore's Pleasure Island, though with a broader array of offerings for all ages. The government renamed the island Sentosa - a Malay word meaning "peace and tranquility" - in 1972 and have been investing in its development and promotion ever since. The island is now a regional destination, with locals and tourists lining up for the rides at Universal Studios or the slots at the casino - all part of Resorts World Sentosa - or filling rooms at the dozens of resorts and hotels around the island. With golf courses, spas, fine dining, and a busy club scene, Sentosa does have a bit of the Pleasure Island reputation when it comes to adults. But families can enjoy a different Sentosa, one that will get you from attraction to attraction with as much or as little walking as you wish, and that offers everything from splash pads for toddlers to 10-foot surf for the big kids to rip through. Families will find the island to be pedestrian (and stroller) friendly, with numerous covered walkways, restrooms, benches and convenient stores selling refreshments. Using the monorail, trams or bicycle and Segway options, you can see much of the island in half a day, though be prepared for the kids to beg to stay longer. The museum, aquarium, and more intense experiences like skydiving and surfing, can make this a full-day excursion if you so desire. And definitely bring your beach attire and gear as Sentosa does offer the nicest beaches in Singapore.
