Lisbon Belém Tour is a 3.1 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near the city of Lisboa that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and is accessible year-round.
Stretched out along the riverbank just 15 minutes west of the city centre, Belém (which means Bethlehem) reflects all the grandeur and heroism of the Age of Discovery. Most of the great Portuguese maritime achievements of the 15th and 16th centuries, that extended the horizons of Europe to new worlds in Africa, Asia and Latin America, departed from these historic shores. There's much to see and admire, including the imposing Jerónimos Monastery where the tomb of Portugal's most intrepid explorer, Vasco da Gama, can be seen in all its splendour. A series of other monuments, museums and palaces makes Belém the perfect place for a half-day walking tour.
