Ferrata Trincee to Bech da Mesdi Loop is a 6.8 mile loop trail located near the city of Canazei that features a lake. The trail is rated as difficult and primarily used for hiking and rock climbing.
This is a simple and short via ferrata, formal difficulty C, but only because of the beginning. Most of the route is difficulty B only. It is located above the Lago di Fedaia, about 10 km east from the town Canazei in South Tirol, Italy. There are more interesting ferratas around, but the importance of Trincee will rise in case of unstable weather. The ferrata may be interrupted and you can return to a lower footpath on the south hillside on several places. You can also set up to Trincee with children, just make sure you have proper ferrata set (harness, helmet and a light) for all of you. You will have a perfect view to Punta Penia from Marmolada Group, which is on the other side of the lake. The ferrata ends with a long tunnel system. The trip starts at west end of Lago di Fedaia, along footpath no. 698 up to Porta Vescovo, then via ferrata delle Trincee to Passo Padon and down to east end of Lago di Fedaia.
