Ballinrobe Town Heritage Walking Tour is a 2.3 mile loop trail located near Ballinrobe, Mayo, Ireland that features a river. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking, walking, and fishing. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Find some of the 'hidden gems' in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo. Allow plenty of time for this Historic Walk which can be taken in two parts and while the 1st part of the walk itself is approx. 2.0 miles (3.2 Km) each point of interest may take longer to see. This walk will take you past many landmarks, some centuries old, and each of which played a role in the development of Ballinrobe Town and its community, some over centuries. Investigate some hidden gems like The Bower's Walk, The Library Area and some of the old graveyards and perhaps trace your ancestors at South Mayo Family Research Centre, on Main Street. You will see many churches, cemeteries both old and new and ruins of the homes of the 'landed gentry' together with a castle and two military barracks ruins with plenty of pubs and coffee shops for refreshments. If driving, parking is easy to find. Don't worry about losing your way; there will always be a local that will help you back on track and probably add in a story or two also! The Bower's Walk and the shorter 'Green' walk can be done on a different visit and the full walk is an additional 2.5 (4 Km) miles with shortcuts available. If you enjoy water, waterfalls, nature, great scenery in tranquil surroundings, it is worth taking this walk. Seating is available at various intervals and why not bring a picnic.
