Stagiates and Koukourava Loop Trail is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Stagiátes, Thessaly, Greece that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
This trail offers the chance to those of Volos and surrounding areas who would like to escape everyday life. Along the way you pass by three little churches and cross the Megarema creek twice. You descend the first part of the trail, a good portion of which is stone built, facing the city of Volos and Pagasitikos golf. Once you get to the east bank of the creek you turn to the right and after a 250 meters hiking you cross the creek and get to the little church of Agios Panteleimonas which has been built under a complex of rocky hills used for climbing training. The trail goes on ascending up to Stagiates through the village of Koukourava and the Tabakika bridge which crosses the Megarema creek.
