Few visitors to this area can imagine that there exists an unmarked trail heading right to the southernmost tip of Sithonia, passing a beautiful, almost virgin beach and offering excellent views. The moderate round trip from Toroni harbor to Sithonia's southernmost tip is about 19 km, gaining about 330 m in elevation. Tired of lounging the whole day on the same beach in Toroni or somewhere else in Chalkidiki and looking for a diversion and exploring something special? So, this is a hike just for you. Basically, the hike can be divided into sections as the following: from the Toroni harbor to Koufos bay, from Koufos bay to Beach 1, from Beach 1 to Beach 2 and from Beach 2 to the southermost tip of Sithonia. It generally takes 10 hours for average hikers to complete the round trip, allowing a reasonable time for swimming at attractive beaches of your choice. Alternatives. Should you decide to shorten the trail by taking the car and still not to miss the highlights of the hike, you have the following options: 1. Drive up and park at Porto Koufos and make it your trailhead (the round trip is 15.3 km). 2. Drive up and park at Beach 1 and make it your trailhead (the round trip is 7.2 km). 3. Hire a jeep and park right at Beach 2 (the round trip is 1.3 km). In this case follow the same trail as on foot, it is broad enough for cars. The trail is generally accessible for the whole year. The trail is rather hot for hiking in high summer. Stick to spring, winter and fall if possible.
