The Gaillères Airial Loop Trail is a 4.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Gaillères, Landes, France that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail.
A 6 km walk into Marsan country. Woods and meadows. The village is on St James' way - Via Lemovicensis. An airial is a local Gascon word designating a vast clearing in the maritime pines forest. Traditional houses have been built up in airials and centennial oaks still populate these clearings.
From the pond of Massy, the walker start his walk in the pine forest and then meets with the Bellevue airial, an urbanized airial crossed by the highway A65. The trail unveils some traditional houses with their typical canopy (estantat).The loop ends with the Massy airial.
