The Adour River Loop Trail is a 3.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Saint-Sever, Landes, France that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
A 5.9km loop, a part of it along the Adour river. Situated on the Vezelay trail (Route of Santiago de Compostella). Scenic view of the Adour river valley and the Gascony forest.
The starting point is located at the parking lot adjacent to the Convent of the Jacobins who gives shelter to the St James way pilgrims. The walker crosses the arcaded square "Tour de Sol" where stands a Benedictine abbey. From the Cape of Gascony, a breathtaking view of the Adour valley and the Landes forest marks the beginning of the descent to the river. At the foot of the buttress, an old washing, then the trail follows the river on the seawall. It leads to the confluence of the Bahus and the Adour rivers. The climb to the start is smooth thanks to a cultivated plateau.
