Saint-Gor Loop Trail is a 4.7 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Saint-Gor, Landes, France that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
A walk of 7.5km among the largest maritime-pine forest in Europe. The sandy trail recalls that the forest grows on a thin soil cap floating above sand dunes. The moor is also a common landscape.
The loop gives an overview of the cultivated Landes forest where the maritime pine (pinus pinaster) is omnipresent. Not a lot of species can settle in this sandy soil. Moorland heath also have their place. The walker will also startle roe deers eating acorns on the forest track. Extreme caution is recommended in October and November, hunting season for common wood pigeons.
