Starting the Czech Canada route from Nova Bystrice to Slavonice. In my opinion, this is family-friendly if your kids are just starting their teens. My son started this last year when he was 12 and hasn't had any problems with level of difficulty of the roads or paths. This is mostly a nice relaxing ride through & along forests on small, paved roads and bike paths. There are cars sometimes. There is a small section after Landstejn which goes through the forest behind the resevoir which is off-road, bumpy and cyclist or hikers only but beautiful and well worth the time. Overall, you start reletively high up from Nova Bystrice/Alber and work your way down as you proceed through Landstejn, Stalkov and into Slavonice. There are some points where you have to climb but they are not that many and not that long. Expanding upon this trip, there are paths that lead into Austria, others that follow the paths of peoples who were exiled from the country during and after WWII, others that represent the historical dealings of famous theieves and many others, all of which I hope to present in this and other guides.
