Welcome to Gault Nature Reserve of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, one of the last remaining intact old-growth forests in southern Que- bec. This nature reserve is the property of McGill University since 1958. The mountain offers visitors a 25 km trail network leading over four summits with magnificent panoramic views. Since 1972, McGill University has entrusted a non-profit or- ganisation, the Mont Saint-Hilaire Nature Centre, to provide services to thousands of yearly visitors. In partnership with McGill University and the support of its 5000 members, the Nature Centre actively protects this natural heritage and also the surrounding region. In 1978, considering the unique natural wealth of the moun- tain, UNESCO designated Mont Saint-Hilaire the first Bio- sphere Reserve in Canada with the wish that it would inspire, in the whole region, the harmony between all human activities and nature. With this in mind, the Nature Centre works with the local municipalities and organisations to promote the con- servation and restoration of the regional wooded areas and good practices in durable development.
Easy access from Montreal. It is a very beautiful natural reserve. We go to hike there whenever we have time in the week-ends
You can do all the trails in 3-4h. The trails are all fairly easy, but it's still a fun hike just outside the city.
Easy family climb
lovely little hike.
I live the Rocky Trail ,is a 5 mile Trail
We'd like to go hike here and camp with our 2 dogs, can it be done? Is it allowed? If not where can we go?
Parfaite pour tous les niveaux et facilement accessible.
