Beautiful area and the natural landscape is pristine
Really nice landscapes. Think Canadian Shield with beautiful lookouts to lakes and creeks. It was quite peaceful & we only encountered a few other couples - though in the summer months there are sure to be lots of campers along the trail.
Finding the falls took us a little longer than the way back - the trail is not well marked. Be prepared to cross a small river and marshland.
Total time: 2.5 hrs (includes 25min break at the falls)
Gorgeous trail! We parked on Northey's Bay at the Crown Land Hunting Preserve sign and headed along the trail until we got to the falls. However, we ended up losing the trail going in, as it's not super well marked. However, just keep the water on your left and you're bound to meet up with the trail again. We noticed lots of empty campsites, although some people aren't very good about picking up their trash. We were going to use them as markers getting back, but we were able to head back to the car just fine from the falls. Absolutely gorgeous country, especially in the fall when the leaves change. Pack for rain, though, and wear sturdy shoes because there's a lot roots and rocks on the trail. I highly recommend it. We did it in about 5 hours with a long break for lunch.
