Newcastle Island Provincial Marine Park is a 4.7 mile loop trail located near Nanaimo, BC and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from May until September.
March 31st, Pretty much had the trail to ourselves. Got lucky with unseasonably warm day.
i like this small island a lot i would recommmend camping over night note it is only tenting!!, it has a great history of mining underneath it and the chance to see the old quarry sites for sandstone mining. The trails around the island are well worth the hike and i would recommend this being a five minute boat ride over to the island via public foot ferry it is 9 dollars for a round trip
