Awesome views, nice wide trail, steep sections everywhere but it's worth the push.

Certainly not an easy hike but also not too difficult. Steady climb on a good trail. A couple of steepish spots but nothing dangerous. Lots of older folks up there. On a clear day, spectacular views of the Fraser Valley from Mission to Harrison Hot Springs. When the wildflowers are out, it's so pretty up there.

Easy and nice. No water source. Great spots for overnight camping on top of the Elk mountain.

I have done 6 hikes in bc this year and this one is so far the most beautiful hike. Make sure you go up to the flag and at least little ahead. I saw some people stopping at the first view point. Second one is quite close, around 10 more minutes but it is Amazing! Must do hike.

Solid good hike! Full incline the entire time. Beautiful view at the top. Make sure to go on a clear day. No washrooms or garbages further up the mountain just as a FYI. My pedometer said 11kms for the round trip. Took me about 2 hours to the top and 45 mins down.

Amazing views from the top! Great off-leash hike for dogs! Don't forget to bring cramp-ons if you want to venture further than the top lookout.

Feb 1, 2016. It felt like a black and white world up on Elk Mountain today!! The clouds didn't break to give us a view, but the snow covered trees were beautiful! Hiked about 15 minutes before we hit snow. We put on our snowshoes after about an hour because we were slipping so crampons would have worked too. Once we got out of the trees we definitely needed snowshoes as the fresh snow covered the trail pretty good. We enjoyed the snow covered trees and white beauty despite the clouds. 2 hours up, 40 minutes down.

Pretty steady incline the whole way up. Most of the hike is in the forest, beautiful! Come out to a view along the side of the mountain, walk along it and up a few steps to some big rocks. Relax and enjoy the view but then continue. on another 15 minutes. It will be so worth the spectacular view!! Meadows, mountains, flowers so beautiful! Probably about 2 hours up, 1 down.
