Best view on the Sunshine Coast!

Great trail for a day hike but be prepared to work hard if you are planning to spend the night after the hike up. After 2/3 it becomes very steep over 50% grade up to 75% near the top. you'll climb from 650ft msl to about 5100 ft msl.
There is a junction before it becomes steepest where you can choose to go left to lakes or right to another mountain. it is possible to go right and find another way down but it'll take a few days. Look at Google earth to find the route. Also I suggest to bring min 4 ltrs of water if your are planning to spend the night up there since there is no water streams available after 1/4 of the way up.
Very shaded and in the am the sun rises on the other side of the mountain.

October 03,2015. Started at 6:15AM. Not many parking spots by the gate. Trail begins on an old service road. Creek crossing by 7:45AM. First views of the ocean by 8:35AM. Crossed the HSCT by 9:50AM. From here the trail gets quite steep. There is a very narrow but short ridge to the summit. Reached the top at 10:45AM.

Hard haha
