Stoneworks Canyon is a 7.3 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Dead Man's Flats, Alberta, Canada. The trail is rated as difficult and primarily used for hiking and trail running.
Came at this from the Cougar Creek trail head. Stayed on the Montane traverse until Stoneworks creek and then turned up hill. Trail get washed out often. Canyon is narrow and dry during the summer. It is just a short stretch and then valley opens up again. You gain about 400m over the whole trip most of that on the Stoneworks creek portion going uphill to the canyon while the Montane Traverse is generally minimal rolling ups and downs. ((I suspect the major debris flow and floods of 2013 erased any trail along the creek.))
