Jura Creek Trail is a 4.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Bighorn No 8, AB that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible from April until October.
The highlights of the creek is the narrow canyon to explore with rock formations and various cascading pools.
The hike is along the creek bed, its a great leg work out because the terrain is loose but I wasn't overly captivated by the scenery. I made the trail more enjoyable by running the way back. It's a good trail if you're in a pinch and need a quick place to go.
Great for a short hike only took about 2 hours. Not recommended for young children as it's a bit scrambly at points also waterproof shoes are good as you'll be walking through the creek at points. a fun afternoon getaway :)
Very fun shorter size hike, you can follow the creek bed for a long way so know you limit and watch your time frame. Some small parts where you have to kinda scramble and keep good footing but super cool and worth it in the end!
It was a long time ago but I still want to go back. Maybe this summer.
Years ago, but unforgetable.
Super cool hike! First part through the canyon you have to walk in the water a bit so wear shoes you can wear in water. Follow the creek through a narrow canyon then it opens up, at the end after 2 hours of hiking there are some rock pools, one is very deep with a 10ft natural waterslide into it, great for a hot day.
