Heart Creek Trail is a 3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Alberta, AB that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Short and easy hike to a popular climbing area. Tons of sport climbing and bouldering.
Nice hike! Quite easy. The only downside was how close the trail is to the highway near the beginning. We went at the beginning of December during a weekday and it was almost completely empty, which was great!
Great trail for kids, very easy and lots of nature scenery along the way. Very busy as well.
Very easy but rewarding only if you climb the creek to view the waterfall
Excellent year round hike. Trail gets packed in winter. Easy for kids as well. Only downside is very busy on summer weekends.
Amazing family hike.
Only thing I didn't like was the first 1k is right off the highway so the noise was a distraction from the scenery.
We took our four kids ranging from 6-15. They loved every minute of it. Even the wet muddy trail after the snowfall!
I felt like it was a perfect amount of elevation for the kids. The scenery constantly changing. And of course the many many bridges were lots of fun. They weren't bored one minute!
We will definitely go back to check it out in the spring / summer!
Personal favourite! Got engaged on this hike :) wonderful to do as a family and very fun
Great hike to do with kids and dogs!
awesome hike, getting into the waterfall was tricky but otherwise amazing.
A short but relaxing hike through a valley. Most days you will catch rock climbers scaling the cliff walls.
I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a chill relaxing hike still marvellous!
Trail was itself was good. Could not see the waterfall as it was hidden behind a cliff so my brother and I climbed up it. Beautiful waterfall, but a bit tough cliff to climb. Will be going back!
We turned this into a 10.5k hike by first visiting the Bow Valley Diefenbunker then going up heart creek trail. The Diefenbunker is a man made cave that goes 400 ft. into the side of Mt. Mcgivallry. there's lots to explore in here but bring lots of bright flashlights and or headlamps. Heart Creek was pretty neat too we scrambled up to the falls at the end the rocks are very slippery be careful!
Very easy trail, great for families with kids.
