This is a great hike!
Beautiful and challenging grunt up with fabulous views of Abraham Lake. We camped at Allstones for a couple of nights, hiked up to the summit. Breathtaking!
Great, challenging hike. Steady, consistent incline right from the start but it's worth it. It's about an hour to get above the tree line, but once you do you have an amazing view of Abraham Lake for the rest of your hike. There will be a fork in the trail when you have nearly reached the lake. Take a left to head to the lake, or go right to reach the summit. It's a good idea to go to Allstones Lake, have lunch and rest up for the final push to the summit! Definitely a must do hike for all hikers!
Awesome. Great trail right to the peak (about 400' higher than than turn off to the lake.) 2 hours to the peak, 1.5 hrs back with my 11 year old son in the rain.
Great views to be seen
Steep climb a lot of the way up, but well worth the effort.
Lake had lots of fish jumping in it :)
Not a review but if anyone has been recently is the lake still iced over? Like to hike in a do some fishing when we get there.
Great day hike and the view from the top is stunning! I highly recommend this trail, it can be a bit steep at parts but well worth it.
We did this hike in mid summer. Gorgeous views make the strenuous beginning worth it. Lots of wild flowers in midsummer as well. The trail is dog friendly (as long as they are in good shape). Trailhead is right at Allstone Creek along the highway. Parking fills up quickly on weekends so arrive early. Will be doing this one again this summer!
This was my first overnight hike , it was extremely difficult but even with my poor fitness level I made it up. Bring good shoes and pack light. The view of Abraham Lake is worth the hike
Steep hike, but great views and places to stop and catch your breath. Make sure you make it to the top and have lunch at the small lake. Parking is on east side of highway, and I would get there earlier rather than later as it fills up on weekends.
Beautiful Canyon, gorgeous in the winter when it frozen over. We hiked down the canyon with friends. Camped right at the falls.
Several of these reviews are for Allstone Lake which is a much longer and steeper hike. I lead a group of 11 5-7Yr olds on the creek, with over 50 crossings and a rewarding waterfall at the end. they loved it. It was ever chosen as the cover for Scouts Canada Magazine
Relatively short hike, steep at a few points, but pretty easy overall. some friends and I camped for one night during the summer. There were quite a few campers already set up when we arrived to the top. There were plenty of sites to see along the trail and even more at the top. I would highly recommend this hike.
Hiked and camped one night at Allstones lake. Approx 4 km one way. Lake was mostly frozen over still, on May 23rd. Snow one the ground near lake but SE side of Lake had a clear area for camping. dipped to about -3rd overnight. Great views and some slightly steep sections. 3 hrs up with a decent pace and about 1.5hrs back.
