Hike up the Trtu/Tartar Gorge along a river, past a geyser, and up to Tsar village on a high plateau. These parts of the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh are very rarely visited by locals or foreigners alike. This sparsely populated river canyon has stunning scenery, and you'll have the world to yourself much of the time. You'll see wonderful cliffs, a geyser, gushing river, top-of-the-world views, and some post was ruins. I highly recommend trying to get out to these parts. You'll start out the day in Karvachar city and head down to the river gorge. The geyser is about 7km upriver (south) of Karvachar. From there you continue until you depart the riverside for the ascent to Tsar Village. Your hike has been somewhat gradually uphill until this ascent, which is a solid stretch of elevation. At the top is high plateau Tsar village with it's sweeping views of canyons and gorges surrounding it. It's cool here most of the year due to the elevation. The entire trail is wide and easy, as it's a rarely used dirt road.
