I hired a kayak at "All Sorts Fitness Wyong" and did a 4 hour trip on the Wyong River. Upstream, there are a lot of fallen trees in the river which make it an adventure to get over, under or around them. About 1km upstream after the Jilliby Creek joins the Wyong River, the obstacles became too much and I turned around. Back at the starting point I had an hour left and went 2km downstream before I turned around to hand the kayak back. Downstream, the river is wider and there is not much debris in the water. Therefore this part of the river is much easier and suitable for beginners. If you are not too noisy animals like different birds, turtles and water dragons can be seen.
