Very neat trail. While none of the hills in Wisconsin is 'tall' in any sense, this one has good prominence. The south end starts on prairie, climbs up the bluff. Giant sandstone boulders and bare oak trees dot the ascent. The geology signs along the way are highly informative, even include a real stromatolite fossil -- and thanks for providing magnifying glasses! Once on top of the bluff, the trail follows a ridge line in the woods, passing through several view points and a couple ravines. The plant life seems to be diverse -- will have to come back in spring to check it out. There is somehow a most unusual cairn along the trail -- a crocodile statue. Note: the trails along the east foot of the bluff is private property (unlike the Alltrails map suggests). There is no facility. The trails is closed during the nine day gun deer season.
