The park offers picnicking; camping; boating (5 MPH speed limit); fishing; swimming in an unsupervised swimming area; hiking; and nature study. A seasonal concession (March - October) rents pedal boats and canoes. Tours may be arranged by special request. Year-round boat rentals are available.

Great for walking. I would not try a run as there are many tree roots.

Easy fun hike, good scenery, plenty of photo opps.

Dangerfield State Park is one of my favorite State Parks. It is close enough to where I live to go on day outings.

I have hiked Rustling Leaves trail around the lake many times. It is a pretty easy hike with lots to see along the way. In the fall it is absolutely beautiful when all the trees are turning.

We hiked the Rustling Leaves Trail (2.5 miles) around Little Pine Lake in Daingerfield State Park with our 3 boys, ages 3, 6, and 8. For hiking with the kids, this was a great trail. The trail was well cleared and well marked and was relatively flat. I would rate this trail as easy. The views are pretty all along the trail. The state park also has a swimming beach and kayak/canoe/paddle boat rentals.

I was pleasantly surprised by this park, I didn't expect the trails to be much more than a "nature path" however the majority was legit trail. There is actually more than 2.5 Miles of trail at the park however the primarily used trail is the loop around the lake which does measure in at approximately 2.5 miles. There are three other less than one mile spur trails off the main loop however they were blocked from burn off debris earlier in the year. Judging from the marks on the trail there is a good deal of bicycle traffic as well as hiking. The majority of the trail is single track. I would rate the trail as easy-moderate depending on your physical ability, the trail would be difficult but manageable for my 8 year old to bicycle. Overall, I would likely return to this area for a good easy run.

The lake trail is very pretty and easy enough for a 5 year old. There are benches thru-out for resting and enjoying the views. The mountain view trail outer loop is best for a billy goat! Some very steep, to the point of sliding down, so be prepared.

Great place to spend a day with family!

The mountain view section of the trail is a good challenge to runners and hikers
