One of my favorite waterfall trails. I took the longer five mile round trip from Hampton TN and Rt. 321 (as opposed to the route in from Dennis Cove Road). It is much easier to get to this trailhead. The trail follows the scenic Laurel Fork for most of the way to the falls, with much of it on the Appalachian Trail. I had the added benefit of hiking earlier this year on a beautiful April day with lots of blooming wildflowers. There are a few rocky spots, but nothing too difficult. And the falls itself is stunning...and a spectacular place to take a lunch break!

Great hike, some tricky rocky parts but overall a perfectly moderate hike. Good for dogs, not for kids.

Lots to see and a good amount of challenge for an adventurous dog. Waterfall water was cold on a warm day in early September.

If you are looking for a moderately easy waterfall hike near the Tri-Cities, I couldn't think of a better one then Laurel Falls! It's fairly easy to get to and well worth the effort, however I've always seen a lot of people here at this one so if you are looking for something that doesn't have a lot of foot traffic this one might not be for you.

Great trail! Take the far left entrance from Dennis Cove north bound on the A.T. to get to Laurel Falls and bring swimming trunks.
