the bike/walk path between the crossing park and lambertville is a great way to spend the day ..the path is gravel, level and easy to navigate. there are many scenic spots along the delaware river to enjoy and take a break. i advise taking the trip from washington crossing park all the way thru to Stockton...theres a lot to see and enjoy ...and if your really up for a trip go even further to Frenchtown...a beautiful way to spend the day or weekend.....the trip to Frenchtown is about 35 miles so be prepared
Though the distance is low the trail is not easy. There are many color marked trails in this state park. If you are not observant you may get lost. Today we helped a couple who were in the middle of the trail and dint know how to go to parking lot. we helped them find their way back to parking lot .
we first went to the visitor center and saw the video about the Washington crossing. It was educational. Then we started along the red trail and followed the alltrails route instead of the marked trail. Overall state park is well maintained. A visit to NewHope and hike in this statepark is a day's worth activity.
Great biking trail. No mountain bike required. Even trail. I like to take it through Pennsylvania and do my return trip through new jersey to make a loop. Lots of fun. Stop at the stockton general store to refuel. They also have nice restrooms. Great place for bikers to take a rest
This was a really nice trail to bike.. The trail runs right along the river.. And if you wander a bit off the trail you will find a spot where people take a dip in the water. The path was very nice.. Easily fit two bikes side by side.. Bumpy at times, but still good!
