The 15,990-acre Hickory Run State Park, Carbon County, lies in the western foothills of the Pocono Mountains. This large park has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. The Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area, is a National Natural Landmark.

Beautiful very interesting trail, and fun for dogs too! I wouldn't rate it as difficult, but you do need to be sure-footed as it is pretty "bumpy". Not a long trail but the interesting factor makes up for it. I went in September but it must be even more beautiful in June with the Mountain Laurel in bloom.

So many trails. Saw a lot of deer and chipmunks. Went to Boulder Field which was very cool. Cant wait to go back again to explore more.
We hiked Hawk Falls Trail. It was a fast hike. The terrain is rocky and uneven but very doable. Wear proper sneakers because the rocks / boulders at the falls are big, some slippery some unstable. The water is about waist deep and so refreshing. There were lots of swimmers so maybe some water shoes and a towel are in order. The walk is only about 10-15 minutes each way.
