This really is a great paved and bridge trail. It tends to get a little packed on weekends, but the main thing to watch out for is bikers looping the path. If you bring a dog, be ready for all kinds of wildlife, we have seen ducks, geese, snapping turtles, deer, and many other animals. It has plenty of elevation change which makes for a good workout!
I have lived next to Shelley Lake for almost twenty years and walk/run the greenway 3-4 times a week. The lake itself and Leadmine Creek have become a silted-up sewer and an eyesore. I really wish the city or county would dredge the lake and take drastic means to clean up stormwater runoff into Leadmine Creek. This could be a nice park again.
