How this "Trail" got into this site is a problem. This is a former train track. It is private property owned by a Utility Company. It is NOT wheel chair accessible, vastly overgrown in some areas, and has narrow elevated areas that are dangerous if you leave the trail. At this time I would not suggest it.
I hiked 2.0 miles from the Salmon Creek bridge east to Manitou Road, the next exit off the trail (at the RV dealership). The trail is narrow, mosquito infested, & there were several large puddles almost impossible to go around. I was told the trail does continue on the opposite side of Manitou Rd but I didn't notice the connection. Trail would be easier to hike in spring or fall.
Very easy, flat, straight trail. Take Upton Ave to the end to find trailhead which is an old utility access road. Path runs along treeline / power line. Cross footbridge to access (may have to lift bikes over cement blockade). Only went about 2 miles in - no apparent destination seen. Alot of farm land on either side.
