A Crucial American Victory Here in the autumn of 1777, American forces met, defeated and forced a major British army to surrender. This crucial American victory in the Battle of Saratoga renewed patriots

Beautiful and Peaceful. Cool learning the history along your walk.

Beautiful history and peaceful trail.

nice hike...marked well .great on a sunny day

great place to hike on a sunny day

great trails and beautiful sights

There is a $3 pp entry fee to hike. The trail was well maintained. Half of the trail is through fields with full sun and the other half is through woods. Nice, east trail.

Good five-mile hike on sunny, brisk late-February Friday. Some icy spots were encountered.

Great Snowshoe Trail on a sunny cold winter day

This was a great hike full of rich American history. The area itself is beautiful and the people that work at the visitors center are very knowledgeable and friendly.

The four mile hike was beautiful. We saw tons of deer. And getting to hear the history of the battles was a wonderful bonus. I went in early October which was the anniversary of some of the battles. It's insane to believe 237 years ago in the same place you are hiking there was a battle. Spooky to think about. They provide you literature on the battles, or have guided tours. Stop in the visitor center, the people who work there are so passionate about their jobs!

The trail was well maintained. It's an easy "hike" with a lot of really cool history along the way. If you take all of the little side trails and check out all of the cannons, plaques, and other things you could easily make a half day trip out of it.

This was a very easy trail, lots of butterflies and history. A gem close to home. Half the trail was in the open sun the other half in the woods.

Easy walk, most of the history is along the road rather than the hiking trail.

This is a nice little walk, but it seemed to me as if it was park of the larger 11.5 mile loop around the battlefield not its own trail. When done with the rest of the Saratoga Battlefield Tour Road it would make for a great and educational outing.
