Lots of flora and fauna on this trail. The storm in 2015 definitely changed much of the trail but the lookout points/views are completely worth the hike!!
If you're looking for an outside activity that will take a few hours then do the whole loop. Great trail to hike in the fall, the colors are breathtaking.
Daniel R. on Dune Climb Trail
I recommend starting this hike in the morning, as the sand can get very warm in the afternoon. Bring water and sunscreen if you plan to do the entire hike. The hike is a lot of fun and jumping into Lake Michigan when you reach the end feels great!
This is a quick loop, probably about 30 min for anyone not as horribly out of shape as I am currently. It's got some steep slopes but nothing too difficult. It's mostly under foliage and you can see the road for the first stretch but then you turn up into the woods and get some really nice views once you start coming downhill around marker 7.
Mike I. on Alligator Hill Trail
A great trail with some nice lookout points to Lake Michigan and Glen Lake. Lots of connected loops allow you to choose your own version of the trail. The scenery was drastically changed by the violent storm in August 2015.. many wooded areas were flattened by tornado-like winds. It'll never be the same but still worth visiting!
