Very enjoyable ride. The view @ Sunset over the bridge, then the progression into dusk as the lights come on @ bridge .. - Unbeatable .

Excellent trail! Well maintained, various entrance points and a gorgeous bridge that lights up at night! We visited in late January on a mild day and it wasn't crowded at all! Great for bikes, runners, walkers and dogs! Love it!!

The High Trestle Trail is a multi-use trail that runs from Ankeny, IA to Woodward, IA, a distance of roughly 25 miles. Nicely paved and includes Madrid and Slater as well as the beginning and ending towns. Good food and watering stops along the way. Excellent views of the Des Moines River Valley as you cross the area high above on the Trestle Trail. We enjoy biking the trail.

Awesome trail! Great views from the High Trestle Bridge overlooking the Des Moines River Valley. Trail is fairly flat and great for both the serious cyclist AND families out on an adventure. Be sure to stop at Flat Tire Lounge for lunch and a cold beverage!
