Awesome spot. Easy to follow trails with some steep spots to keep it fun and challenging. Lots of fallen leaves made the trail a bit tough in spots as you can really start to slide, but hiking poles really help with this. Cool historical spots with lots of informational placards explaining the mining operation and donkey trail. Bat cages were really cool too. We will definitely return.
We might have gotten a little lost at one point..definitely hiked more than 3.6 miles! However, it was fun..some steeper, rockier spots, but pretty flat for the most part. It was a good afternoon workout of the legs, that's for sure! Brought our dog but all the water was dried up so he was quite thirsty by the end of it. Lots of bugs!
Seriously one of the coolest hikes I've been on. I'd rate it as easy but could def see bugs being an issue in the later spring/summer. Frogs must have just hatched and they were out in force, kids got a kick out of them. The hike itself is amazing and full of history, lots of cool photo opps and history. Def recommend!

This was a very nice hike. Some up and down, lots of rocks...typical New England. Interesting history and great stonework. Bought our two labs and they did fine. Blue trail markings were fine and fairly easy to follow. Only saw 5 people on the hike so was very peaceful.
