Hit the trail at Lory State Park and enjoy mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding amid some fabulous foothills scenery just minutes from Fort Collins and adjacent to Horsetooth Reservoir. From rolling valleys to mountainous hillsides, Lory State Park's 20 miles of trails rarely exceed a 12 percent grade. The variety of trails is great for short or long hikes, mountain bike rides, horseback rides and jogs. Backcountry camping is also available for visitors looking for a quiet getaway close to suburban Fort Collins .

This trail was a blast! There's a pretty steep incline on the way out that makes for a great work out and the views make it totally worth it. This trail is also way less packed than some of the others in Lory. Definitely a great choice!

We have a 12 year old and 4 month old pup... this was perfect for both levels of dog! :) Definitely icy in places, but it's February in Colorado. Even if the 62 degree temperature makes you forget that. Great views and amazingly quiet and secluded.

Overall, a good hike to get the hear rate up. The trail was quite icy on the beginning. It was fine going up but coming down was treacherous. Would definitely recommend poles or cleats or both!

Great trail if you're looking for some good outdoor exercise but don't have a lot of time. 1.7 miles to the summit, basically all uphill.

Love this hike! It's one of my favorites when I want to go for a local hike near Fort Collins. Nice easy trail with spectacular views! Would recommend boot traction cleats for this time of year.

Climbing around the rock is fun, the hike has its moments as well. Can get busy on days with nice weather.
